Dirt Bike Rider Killed in Crash in North Houston

DirtBikeRider

According to a report from Fox 26 Houston, a dirt bike rider was killed in a terrible motor vehicle collision in North Houston. The collision is still under a more comprehensive investigation by law enforcement. Here, our Houston wrongful death lawyer provides an overview of what we know about the tragic incident and explains the rights of grieving families in Texas.

Deadly Dirt Bike Crash in North Houston

As confirmed in reporting from Fox 26 Houston, a tragic dirt bike accident in north Houston claimed the life of 28-year-old Rondarias Williams. The accident happened on the night of Saturday, May 31st, 2025 shortly after 9:30 p.m. The Houston Police Department was called to an incident at the intersection of Greens Road and Gears Road.

Based on a preliminary assessment, they determined that Mr. Williams was riding eastbound on a Kawasaki dirt bike when he collided with a westbound Ford F-150 pickup truck that was attempting a left turn onto Greens Parkway.

Tragically, Mr. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Investigators believe that the victim ran a red light at the intersection. Further, he was not wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash. With that being said, the fatal accident is still under a motor comprehensive investigation.

Motorized Bike Safety Must Be a Top Priority

Motorized bike safety must be a top priority for all riders—especially in busy urban areas like Houston. These vehicles offer convenience and excitement, but they also come with serious risks. Riders should always wear a helmet, follow all traffic laws, and ensure their bike is street-legal and properly maintained. Running red lights and/or ignoring other traffic regulations can have catastrophic or even deadly consequences.

Grieving Families Have a Right to File a Civil Wrongful Death Claim in Texas

Motor vehicle wrecks—from car crashes to trucking accidents to bike collisions—are a leading cause of accidental deaths in Texas. The loss of a close loved one to any type of accident is a horrible tragedy. When a fatal accident is caused by negligence, grieving families have the right to seek justice and compensation through a civil wrongful death claim. Under Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code § 71.002, eligible family members—including a spouse, children, or parents—can pursue financial compensation for losses such as funeral expenses, lost financial support, and non-economic losses, such as loss of love, loss of companionship, and loss of consortium.
